Giclee print of the drawing "Gunny" by Jess Tosh. All prints are signed and numbered by the artist.
"Gunny" is a highly detailed drawing completed in graphite and charcoal.
"I was always intimidated by drawing hands, they are such complex shapes that it can be very easy for them to look clunky and throw off an entire drawing. So, I set myself the challenge of seeing how realistic I could draw them, and instantly became lost in the shapes, patterns and lines that make up our hands. I experimented with a range of poses and shapes but was really drawn to this gun salute, its beautiful but holds a certian amount of arrogance and rebellion. I actually entered this piece into a competition and had it disqualified for "inciting violence"! To be honest I can see how they would think that, but I was always more interested in the beauty of it!" - Jess Tosh
About the prints:
Giclée is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve prints of superior quality, light-fastness and stability. My Giclée prints are created using an Epson P7000 with Epson pigment inks, which, with the 10 channel print head, is capable of producing an extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut.
My printers use Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm – a white, 100% cotton paper with a smooth surface texture. They meet the highest industry standards regarding density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.
